Montgomery County Water Festival – Facts

  • Festival offered to all fourth grade students in Montgomery County

  • First Festival held in 2001

    • 720 students attended

    • 12 schools participated

    • One day Festival with two sessions

  • Festival has continued since its inception in Montgomery

    • Over 10,000 students have attended

    • Over 50 schools have participated

    • Festival now held on two consecutive days

  • Activities presented at past Festivals include:

    • Water Cycle Bracelet

    • Mini-Filtration

    • Wetlands Metaphor

    • Rainsticks

  • Educational Entertainment provided by:

    • Steve Trash

    • Fishin’ Magicians

    • Jack Golden

  • Over 100 volunteers participate each day during Festival including local organizations and businesses, public and private high school students, and senior adults.
